SANITARY AND STORM SEWER WORK – BOYNTON TERRACE APARTMENTS

Sealed bids in duplicate for furnishing of all materials, labor, tools, equipment, and appliances necessary for the Boynton Terrace Apartments Sanitary Sewer and Storm Drain Piping Repairs will be received by the Owner at the Central Office of the Chattanooga Housing Authority, 801 N. Holtzclaw Ave., Chattanooga, TN 37404, until 2:00 p.m., local time, February 17, 2012, when bids will be opened and read aloud in CHA Board Room. Bids must be submitted as instructed in the Information for Bidders.

The Project entails replacing approximately 225 linear feet (LF) of existing 8- to 12-inch-diameter sanitary sewer lines and associated manholes owned by the City of Chattanooga and currently serving the buildings in the Boynton Terrace Apartments complex. The project also includes various work tasks associated with the repair, replacement, cleaning, and/or rehabilitation of approximately 1,600 LF of existing 4- to 6-inch-diameter storm drain and sanitary sewer service lines, cleanouts, and other associated appurtenances currently serving the buildings within the apartment complex.

A Pre-Bid Conference will be held for interested bidders at the project site at the Boynton Terrace Community Building, 955 Boynton Dr., Chattanooga, 37402, on February 8, 2012, at 10:00 a.m.

Copies of the Contract Documents and Specifications, including bidding documents and requirements and Contract Drawings may be obtained at the offices of the Engineer, CTI Engineers, Inc., 1122 Riverfront Pkwy., Chattanooga, 37402 (phone 423/267-7613, fax 423/267-0603, www.ctiengr.com). Copies may be obtained there upon payment of $100.00 for each set. This payment is not refundable.

Bidders must be listed on Engineer’s list of planholders who have purchased the Contract Documents, Specifications, and Drawings.

Engineer shall be provided with mailing address for U.S. Postal Service, physical delivery address, telephone number, FAX number, email address, and contact person.

CHA reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any informalities in the bids.

The Chattanooga Housing Authority (CHA) is currently soliciting bids for the services of a
GENERAL CONTRACTOR for the renovation of specific housing units of the Emma Wheeler
Homes Complex.
Bids, in duplicate, will be received until  2:00 p.m., Monday, November 7
th
, 2011,  at the
Development Department, Chattanooga Housing Authority, 801 N Holtzclaw Avenue,
Chattanooga, TN 37404, at which time and place all bids will be publicly opened and read aloud.
A pre-bid meeting will be held at the above location on Tuesday, October 25th, 2011 at 10:00
a.m. at Emma Wheeler Homes, Central Office, located at 4900 Edinburg Drive., Chattanooga, TN
37404.   Due to the nature of this pilot project, attendance is strongly recommended and
the project manager for CHA will be present.
Drawings, specifications, and bid documents will  be available after 2:00 p.m. on October 17th,
2011 at ACT Print Division, LLC, 109 Signal Mountain Road, Chattanooga Tennessee 37405;

The following information must also be present on the outside of the envelope: Bidder’s name,

Each contractor submitting a proposal must hold a license to operate in the State of Tennessee.

The Chattanooga Housing Authority (CHA) is requesting proposals from qualified firms with low-income public housing (LIPH), tax credit (LIHTC) and Housing Choice Voucher Program (HCVP) compliance experience to perform compliance reviews of tenant/participant files.  Tasks may include, but are not limited to, file review, correction of 50058s, verification, earned income disallowance eligibility, and regulatory/statutory compliance.
